Chinese Alibaba Company has Fired All Staff in Their India Office of UC Web App & Others Held Payments
India has banned almost all important Chinese origin mobile applications which counts 59 applications. These banned applications also include UC Web app. UC web Application is a subsidiary company of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, which is one of the biggest Chinese technology giants and specializes in e-commerce, retail and technology industries.
As a result of this India ban on Chinese origin mobile applications, UC Web App company has laid off almost all Indian staff from their India office.and has stopped all official activities in the country. This sudden suspension of UC Web app services also extended to its two other related products offerings.
India Banned at least 59 mobile apps of Chinese origin following the latest engagement of Indian and Chinese border forces in the disputed territory stretches across their Himalayan border which resulted in the killing of at least 20 Indian soldiers. India considers their latest ban on mobile applications of Chinese origin as “Digital Strike” on China’s national interests.
Alibaba’s UC Web entered India more than a 10 years ago. UC Browser consists of a very popular web browser application which operates alongside with their famous news app and the Vmate short video app.
UC web App official has said that they acted upon the Indian government orders and have stopped their service in the country, which eventually halted their all operations in the country entirely.
Alibaba’s UC web App had a large user base, This mobile application had more than 130 million active monthly users in India, almost 100 company staff members and thousands were employed as third party workforce.
Another Chinese mobile application, Club Factory (CF) has also been affected by this India Ban on Chinese origin mobile apps which has more than 30,000 sellers in India.
Club Factory (CF) app has also temporarily halted all services within the country. they have also made all their settlements with sellers on hold until this Indian ban of these applications is lifted.
Indian authorities consider these Chinese applications were being used under the influence of foreign lobbyist groups. Indian government has forwarded 77 questions to the parent companies of all these banned Chinese origin mobile applications. These questions have also included their original content censorship policies and their conduct as an operator working on the behalf of other governments and regimes foreign agendas.
